Hexagon head screws have a self-drilling point and bonded EPDM washer for roofing and cladding on cold-rolled purlins. They have a coarse thread and TEK 3 point for steel from 1.2mm to 3.5mm. The finish is a three-stage zinc-ceramic coating. Listed variants start at 5.5 x 25mm. Select the screw by steel thickness and required length.

Installation

1. Screws should be installed using a Tek screwdriver or cordless

drill with adequate power and a drilling speed of between 1500

– 2500 rpm. (IMPORTANT - Impact screwdrivers will damage

the threads and must not be used)

2. Use a 5/16" socket to install the screw perpendicularly into the

steel maintaining steady pressure without forcing the tool.

3. Stop inserting the screw as soon as the compression disc of the

bonded washer changes from convex to flat. Overtightening the

screw is liable to damage the thread particularly in thin steel.
