Features & Applications

Hexagon head screws with self-drilling point and bonded EPDM

washer for fixing composite roofing and cladding panels to steel

purlins. Also commonly used for fixing brick-tie channels through

composite panels. Coarse thread and TEK 3 point suitable for steel

thicknesses from 1.2 – 3.5mm. High threads situated under the head

for supporting the top sheet of the panel. Tough three-stage zinc-ceramic coating for superior corrosion resistance.

Installation

1. Screws should be installed using a Tek screwdriver or cordless

drill with adequate power and a drilling speed of between 1500

– 2500 rpm. (IMPORTANT - Impact screwdrivers will damage

the threads and must not be used)

2. Use a 5/16" socket to install the screw perpendicularly into the

steel maintaining steady pressure without forcing the tool.

3. Stop inserting the screw as soon as the compression disc of the

bonded washer changes from convex to flat. Overtightening the

screw is liable to damage the thread particularly in thin steel.
