Hexagon head screws have a self-drilling spiral point and bonded EPDM washer for thicker structural steel sections. They have a fine thread and TEK 7 point for steel from 4.0mm to 18.5mm, with a three-stage zinc-ceramic coating. The 5.5 x 50mm option is identified by its variant code. Match the screw to the steel thickness in the stated range.

Installation

1. Screws should be installed using a Tek screwdriver or cordless

drill with adequate power and a drilling speed of between 1500

– 2500 rpm. (IMPORTANT - Impact screwdrivers will damage

the threads and must not be used)

2. Use a 5/16" socket to install the screw perpendicularly into the

steel maintaining steady pressure without forcing the tool.

3. Stop inserting the screw as soon as the compression disc of the

bonded washer changes from convex to flat.
