Used in magnetic drilling machines (magdrills) for drilling precise holes in steel. Broaching cutters remove the metal at the periphery of the hole only and eject the centre as a slug at the end of the cut. Much less power is required than with conventional twist drills and much less heat is generated. Broaching cutters achieve far more holes per cutter, more safely and with far less effort than with conventional drills.
